Sumario:First of all, we focus our attention on the resistance and assimilation of the "Pueblos del Norte" marking three periods: one prior to 26 BC, one between 26 and 15 BC and another one later than 15 BC; we also study the army reorganization; the payment to the legionaries; the army as the first romanisation element and how it influences in the economic and social Iife of the natives. Secondly, we draw our attention on the political-judicial-administrative organization of the lands in the north as a result of the conquest. We finish with a summary of the Roman presence assessment in Asturias and Cantabria during the occupation period.
