Descripción
Sumario:ABSTRACT: The authors present a theoretical framework, the sustainable development–stakeholder relations management (SD–SRM) approach, which can help scholars and practitioners to easily evaluate the implementation of corporate sustainability in the hospitality sector. The SD–SRM approach is based on the ideas of the ustainable development and stakeholder relations management theories. It explores how far sustainable development can be achieved through stakeholder relations management. Thus, it shows how sustainable development and stakeholder relations management relate to each other. On the basis of the SD–SRM approach, the authors also identify several areas for improvement in the management and reporting of corporate sustainability in the hospitality sector. In doing so, the authors contribute a step forward in the generation of knowledge on corporate sustainability in the tourism industry as they integrate social theories that have appeared unconnected in the previous academic and professional literature.
