Sumario:[EN] Josep Renau (Valencia 1907-Berlin 1982) was one of the great creators of Spanish and international contemporary art, but also one of its most singular, multifaceted and committed artists with socio-political ideals. Without hardly intending to, he ended up being a citizen of three different countries, given that his life and artistic career, in correspondence with the century full of creative innovations and war and social upheavals in which he lived, was full of learning, responsibilities and adaptations. In such a way that, in spheres and artistic scenes as different as those of Spain, Mexico and the former German Democratic Republic (GDR), Renau combined painting, mural painting, illustration, graphic design and photomontage with a clear awareness and dedication, standing out as a reputed professional in each of these countries with a different stamp
