Descripción
Sumario:[EN] This article presents a graphic reconstitution of 16th century Segovia based on the panoramic landscapes of the Flemish chorographer, Anton van der Wyngaerde. To achieve this, we analyze the method, resources and graphic invariants used by the Flemish artist, as well as their practical application to the Segovian setting. It is crucial to identify the location of his observation points, which is only feasible through the graphic reading and geometric correction of the panoramic landscapes. These are in turn compared to the present day skyline and city plan in order to uncover the errors, ambiguities, fabrications and accuracies of the artist, the evolution of the constructions, and the identification of the forgotten Segovia. The result of combining both panoramas allows us to reconstitute a hypothetical outline of Renaissance Segovia.
