| Summary: | [EN]In this study we analyze the translation of a Yoko Ogawa’s Japanese novel: Ninshin karenda (1991), called in Spanish El embarazo de mi hermana (2006). Taking into account that every language has its own way of expression, always exists modifications of the original meanings at translating from one language to another. Along this study of comparative literature, I’ll show that even if we can easily understand the meaning of the translation’s novel plot, readers of the Spanish version are not able to notice a lot of details as a result of the difficulty or even the impossibility of the translation of these details in the target language, particularly taking into account the use of onomatopoeia, personifications and metaphors, which are narrative resources used repeatedly by this Japanese novelist. |
