| Resumo: | [EN] The 2019 revision of the historic-artistic inventory of the diocese of Salamanca in different temples in the archpriesthood of Vitigudino-Ledesma (Salamanca) brought to light the processional cross in Añover de Tormes, a magnificent piece with lyre-shaped arms. By the time it was worked, in the mid-16th century, the rich and varied plateresque decoration that covers the whole surface of the cross had been fully assimilated. Its author Francisco de Pedraza (whose heretofore unique hallmark, P/DRA/ƷA, can be seen repeatedly next to the town name, Salamanca) was a renowned Salmantinian silversmith who, for instance, renovated the old processional monstrance in the cathedral of Salamanca. |
