| Sumario: | [EN] Relationships between altitude -as climate variable-, pH and organic matter content of topsoils from NW. of Spain have been found to be highly significant. In brown earths and alluvial meadow soils the organic matter contents are slightly more influenced by altitude that by pH. In rankers, the acidity is determinant factor (R=0,747); whereas in lehms it is so the altitude (r=0,630). The correlation coefficients between C/N ratio and both variables are very significant in some soils, but those of determination are very low. Acidity always is the predominant variable. |
