| Sumario: | The REMALA Project studied the spatial and temporal distribution of the larval fish assemblage over an annual cycle, in the bay of Malaga (Northwest Alboran Sea). More than 80 larval fish taxa were identified in the study area highlight its high biodiversity, jointly with the presence of larvae of species with a high commercial interest, such as e.g. Sardina pilchardus, Engraulis encrasicolus or Pagrus pagrus. The larval fish assemblage in the bay of Malaga appears to be a relatively stable community with some intra-annual and onshore-offshore variability. |
