Many of these results are due to Perrot, 1938 a, b, e, recent papers being scaree (L a w s, 1965, R a i n e r, 1967, B u t o t and K i a u t a, 1969, 1970). Coneerning the Iberian Peninsula no species have been studied so far. In this work we study the chromosomes of twelve species belonging to the subfamilies Helicellinae, Cochlicellinae, Mona-chinae and Hygromiinae as well as we consider the cytotaxonomícal aspects derived from these results.This work has been made possible by a predoctoral grant from the C. S. I.
