Descripción
Sumario:In the off-shore area of the Asturian and Cantabrian provinces a mesozoic-cenozoic basin develops with an important thickness of the Upper Jurassic and lower Cretaceous series. The partial closure of the Biscay Bay during the Eocene caused a shortening of the series and produced a structural inversion of the Jurassic-Lower Cretaceous depocenters. The majority of the unsuccessful oil wells were drilled on the inverted anticlines located in this area
