| Sumario: | [EN] A new Phragmotheca (Malvaceae) species, documented from scarce collections from central Panama, is described and illustrated. Its distribution and affinity with Phragmotheca hydra, a little-known species from Colombia’s Pacific coast, are discussed. An amended (updated) diagnosis of the genus, along with new taxonomic or chorological information on four of the already known species of the genus are included. An identification key of the species recognized in the genus is included. |
