Descrição
Resumo:Álvaro Cunqueiro published in 1960 Las Mocedades de Ulises, a “non novel” of the so-called mythological genre, in which, following the structure of a Bildungsroman, he spins a fable about the birth and youth of Ulysses and the process of his development as a hero, in a sort of ‘Odyssey before Homer’. This paper explores the Galician writer’s approach to Homer’s hero, both in Las Mocedades and other texts, and analyses how much of the Homeric Odysseus is present in Cunqueiro’s Ulysses.
