Sumario:The important faults bounding the SW margin of the Basquecantabrian basin are given, in the geological literature, different and sometimes contradictory names. This paper revises the appropriatedness of these names on the base of priority criteria and of critical evidence afforded by the fades distribution of the Aguilar Fm. (Kimmeridgian-Berriasian). The use of the Ubierna, Villela and Humada faults is thus strongly recommended
