| Sumario: | ABSTRACT: Taking the study of Luppe on the Herculanean “disegno N” 242 I as a starting point, this article suggests new readings and new proposals to reconstruct the missing parts of the text. Our interpretation facilitates establishing a textual relationship between the papyrus and Aeschylus’ “Phorcides”. Furthermore, it allows appreciating the existence of a mythical and literary tradition that placed the Gorgons in Hades, coherent with other extant pieces of information about Aeschylus’ work, and a possible testimony of a “katabasis” of Perseus. |
