| Resumo: | The creation of a national space of communication was a practical need that becomes a theoretical concept developed by the Catalan School of Communication in the 70s. This concept proposes to the newly recovered Catalan political institutions a major commitment to create a Catalan mass media system powerful enough to reproduce and to socialize in the new Catalan nation.
