Resumo:The determining conditions that educators have to address in the classroom to carry out the media education required by the digital society need to be clearly developed and implemented in teacher training. This media education is broader than digital literacy. Endowed with such education, citizens will be able to acquire the digital competences that enable them to analyze and create media documents. Additionally, they will also develop a critical and responsible attitude for their daily actions in a participatory process, through the «relational factor», to leave their cultural and creative footprint. Consequently, this paper argues that communicators and educators should work together and in coordination under the umbrella of educommunication, which is itself part of the international context of media and information literacy.
