Sumario:[EN] Word, words, words. Analysis of the use of writing in artistic works through five case studies is a study focused on the application of writing in art. To do this we ask ourselves what writing is and how it affects and influences how art is produced. We consider that the world of writing and, consequently, literature, is able to contain all the knowledge in the world. Through this medium, there is nothing that cannot be said or expressed based on a unifying approach and a holistic vision. We believe that writing has direct impacts on art. Both art and literature are representations of life itself. As such, we feel that they share the capacity to construct what are essentially reflections of our realities, like a relationship between materials, knowledges, attitudes and experiences. In this way, we understand culture and knowledge as a field of synergies that produce reflection points between different disciplines. Our objective is, through a consideration of all relevant elements, to consider how all artistic work moves in a wide spectrum of the elements of life and how it touches the themes which form our conversation. Consequently, this thesis presents an analysis of the experimentation carried out in the world of contemporary art relating to writing, including aspects inherent to writing such as the word, text, language and reading. A deep analysis of these questions, through a rigorous study of five personal works will allow us to pick out the themes and references which revolve around our own production. We intend to create a network of references associated with modern and contemporary art while also touching other fields of knowledge such as literature, cinema, philosophy, mathematics and medicine. Making observations through the prism of the study of art, links will be made between theory and its practical application. In this way, we will apply a qualitative and experimental methodology which has led us to a continuous coming and going between theory and practice and vice versa. The publication is divided into three parts. In the first, we consider a conceptual representation of writing which allows us to establish the different typologies that exist, making links and connections between them. At the same time, we investigate the way in which these typologies are used as a principal strategy in contemporary art. Next, we discuss artistic premises that predate this study. In the second and third parts, we present five our case studies organised by artistic discipline; installations and performance. Our intention is to carry out a cataloguing of artists who have made notable contributions in the fields which we are considering, based as much on theory as practice. We place a special emphasis on constructing a constellation of references operating on both a national and international stage. In conclusion, our aim is to choose works which allow us, through their study, to create a narrative and a series of conclusions which can later be transferred to our own creative work. To do this, we plan to develop a study which encompasses multiple themes, highlighting the idea that all artistic work is in fact a product of and a reflection of a reality and that as a consequence, it is able to touch on numerous themes.
