Descripción
Sumario:[EN] The focus of this article encompasses the reconstruction of the historical process of an underwater site, adopting a dual perspective that combines archaeological research and the study of documentary sources. In the context of more remote periods, particularly those dating back to prehistoric and ancient times, archaeology emerges as the predominant discipline facilitating rigorous scientific analysis of cultural heritage. Furthermore, we analyse how, in more recent periods (Early Modern and Contemporary), the extensive submerged naval heritage should also be investigated through Historical records (textual and graphic sources) preserved in archives and libraries, taking into account the social processes that form part of Maritime History. Nevertheless, it is of paramount importance to complement these historical sources with material evidence yielded from the archaeological record
