| Sumario: | A ferric-doped zeolite-modified electrode was fabricated for the determination of uric acid. The ferric-doped zeolite was responsible for the electrocatalytic oxidation of uric acid in a buffer solution (pH 4.6). The analytical performance of the ferric-doped zeolite modified electrode was evaluated using adsorption stripping square wave voltammetry. A linear anodic response for uric acid in the concentration range 0.6 – 60.0 µM, a detection limit of 0.23 µM, and a sensitivity of 0.64 µA/µM were obtained. Finally, the proposed method was used for the determination of uric acid in a urine sample, and hence it has potential application for clinical samples. |
