Descripción
Sumario:[ANGLÈS] In the field of structural engineering, in particular in the case of the construction of medium to large span bridges, which are subjected to high stresses, it is not unusual to design the bridge with trusses (crosslinked structures) or plate girders. The latter technique involves the welding of the plate of the web and flanges. To improve the ductility of these beams, or if required an increase of the ultimate load of the beam without increasing its dimensions, it is usual to add transverse and/or longitudinal stiffeners. Returning to the case of bridges construction, a popular construction method is the technique of the launching, which involves the construction and/or assembly of different bridge spans in a park of prefabrication located in one of the two abutments. Once built, the bridge is progressively pushed by an hydraulic jack. The most critical in the case of the stresses is when the bridge reaches one of the supports, as a concentrated load is very high in a relatively small unstiffened area. This phenomenon is referred to as Patch Loading. There are a number of publications on girders under Patch Loading, and the bending moment has also been studied in a large number of publications. Yet the literature dealing with both cases together is limited and still requires further in-depth study of this interaction of efforts. In order to complete the study in the field of longitudinally stiffened girders under Patch Loading and bending moment, this master‘s degree thesis is aimed and will study the influence of these loads over this type of beams.
