| Sumario: | The article examines the six uses of mesitês (mediator) in the New Testament: Gal 3:19- 20; 1 Tim 2:5; Heb 8:6; 9:15; 12:24. The analysis of the texts brings to light some characteristics of the use of mesitês in the New Testament: unicity (Christ's oneness as mediator is associated to God’s oneness), universality (Christ is the mediator for all humankind), humanity (his mediation is based on his Incarnation and on the offering of his life on the cross), and efficacy (Christ's mediation assures the possibility of a faithful response to God by all men). |
