Descripción
Sumario:[EN] The Palace of the Governor (10th century AD) at Uxmal (Yucatán, Mexico), an archaeological site listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is an outstanding example of Maya architecture. The discovery of a former structure within its large stepped platform also makes it a notable example of a building constructed in multiple phases, incorporating at least one preexisting structure into the final volume. This building upon the built practice , characteristic of Maya architecture, permitted many ancient structures to be preserved inside the volume of the superimposed ones. Athough these previous structures offer valuable research opportunities, their documentation requires specific methodologies to accurately record and reference elements that are only partially visible during excavation. This paper presents the integrated survey of a former structure of the Palace of the Governor (8th century AD) within its architectural context, along with the preliminary results derived from its analysis.
