Sumario:[EN] This article aims to focus on the interaction between homosexuality and prison in the novel by the Cuban writer Carlos Montenegro, titled Hombres sin mujer (1938). From a sociological approach to literature, we structurally analyze the homosexual notions and practices in a particular Cuban jail. In this regard, we specifically explain their components and the creation of self-explicative categories or ethnocategories. Furthermore, the order which constitutes these elements and the conflicts that dynamize them are studied. Finally, the article concludes considering the notion of homosexuality in prison as a tragedy; an idea that closes the novel
