Experimental characterization of filamentation phenomena in pressure-mounted diode laser bars

Laser diodes are important to our modern society and have many interesting appli- cations. They however still have some aspects to be studied, to improve their performance and reliability. In this work, the emission of two diode laser bars, each with different configurations and from different manuf...

They however still have some aspects to be studied, to improve their performance and reliability. In this work, the emission of two diode laser bars, each with different configurations and from different manufacturers, was studied under varying pressure and current conditions. The primary focus was on understanding how filamentation-caused measurable characteristics evolve under different conditions when using MONOCROM's packing technology. An optical system designed using Zemax and calibrated for accurate near-field measurements is used to measure the intensity profiles that will be later analyzed with MATLAB. Data analysis revealed that the number of filaments and their width, generally increase with higher currents. Mounting forces, also influence filamentation, with varying trends for the different bars and analyzed pa- rameters. It is also found that each emitter within a bar shows unique responses to the applied conditions.Universitat Politècnica de CatalunyaOriach Font, CarlesMasoller Alonso, Cristina20242024-07-1920252025-02-06master thesishttp://purl.org/coar/resource_type/c_bdccNAhttp://purl.org/coar/version/c_be7fb7dd8ff6fe43info:eu-repo/semantics/masterThesisapplication/pdfapplication/ziphttps://hdl.handle.net/2117/423577reponame:UPCommons.
