Resumo:In this article, the biological and spiritual dimensions of the human being according to Max Scheler are described. The duality which appears is not between the physical and the animate, but rather between the vital and the spiritual. These two dimensions are, according to Scheler, essentially distinct; nevertheless, in his philosophy, they are shown to be mutually dependent in an original manner.
