ERC Artsoundscapes project – Impulse Responses (IR) and acoustic parameter values obtained during the archaeoacoustics fieldwork in the rock art sites of Kamberg & Giant’s Castle (Drakensberg area, South Africa)

| Sumario: | Data collected in the framework of the ERC project "The sound of special places: exploring rock art soundscapes and the sacred" (acronym: Artsoundscapes, Grant Agreement No. 787842, PI ICREA Research Professor Margarita Díaz-Andreu). The project focuses on the relationship between archaeoacoustics and rock art. This dataset includes the omnidirectional impulse responses gathered at 27 archaeological sites in the Kamberg and Giant’s Castle areas (South Africa) in various formats. The excel file includes the acoustic data derived from the selected reference impulse responses of each site. Fieldwork was conducted in April 2022, by Margarita Díaz-Andreu, Neemias Santos da Rosa and Diego Moreno Iglesias, with help of Ghilraen Laue, and Chih-Jen Hung, and remote support by Lidia Alvarez-Morales. It also had Richard Duma and Raphael Mnikahti as guides. Post-processing and data analysis was performed by Lidia Alvarez-Morales and Diego Moreno Iglesias. |
