Applying these observations to maps produced in the Eighteenth Century on the Iberian peninsula, is detected even in this range are obvious improvements in its mapping. But it”s the end of that century when proceeding with its mapping accuracy manifested through maps of Tomás López, a spanish geographer, who made maps of regional character in this area.[ES] EL río Cidacos dibuja en su curso unas inflexiones tanto levógiras como dextrógiras que le son características, diferenciándose con ellas de los otros río riojanos con los que presenta afinidad en otros muchos caracteres. La existencia de estos rasgos peculiares permite identificar su presencia en los mapas de siglos pasados y, a través de las mejoras que son observables en su progresiva exactitud, también nos muestra el avance que se ha producido en su cartografía. Aplicando estas observaciones a mapas elaborados en el siglo XVIII sobre la península Ibérica, se detecta que incluso a esa amplitud son manifiestas las mejoras en su cartografía.
