In these novels that revolve around the so called Tenth Muse we see something that happens to other Mexican cultural icons, such as Malinche or Frida Kahlo: her literary rearticulation in the 21st century reveals a voyeuristic perspective that exploits intimacy in the same way that today’s media sells privacy, secret sexual practices and forbidden obsessions. This reading confirms not only that neoliberalism affects the production and commercialization of literature but also that novels written today portray new ethical principles and reveal other aesthetics, in sync with contemporary social changes, the demands imposed by bestsellers, and the massive consumption of light literature. Precisely because of that, Sor Juana reveals her interiority and takes off her clothes in several of these recent novels, where she tends to behave like an actress of her own soap opera.[ES] Este artículo analiza cuatro novelas sobre Sor Juana publicadas entre el 2007 y el 2010: La venganza de Sor Juana (2007) de Héctor Zagal (publicada con el seudónimo de Mónica Zagal); El beso de la virreina (2008) de José Luis Gómez; Yo, la peor (2009) de Mónica Lavín; y Los indecibles pecados de Sor Juana (2010) de Kyra Galván. En estas novelas que giran en torno a la llamada Décima Musa vemos algo parecido a lo que sucede con otros íconos de la cultura mexicana, como la Malinche o Frida Kahlo: su rearticulación literaria en el siglo XXI revela una perspectiva voyerista que explota la intimidad del mismo modo en que los medios y las redes actuales venden la privacidad, las prácticas sexuales secretas y las obsesiones prohibidas. Esta lectura confirma no solo que el neoliberalismo afecta la producción y comercialización literaria sino que las novelas escritas hoy siguen nuevos principios éticos y revelan otra estética, en consonancia con los cambios sociales del presente, la demanda de los bestsellers y el consumo masivo de la literatura light.
