Descripción
Sumario:This study focuses on the semantics of two words used in the variety of Peninsular Spanish spoken in Navarre, one of the regions in northern Spain where Spanish and Basque have been in intense contact for centuries. Although their real origin still needs to be proven, the two words studied have been traditionally identified as borrowings from Basque¿that is, words that at some point came into the Spanish spoken in the area by transfer from that language.
