These sedimentary sequences have a more sandstone component in LC with respect to MUC. Chemical characteristics of LC and MUC pelites present some differences, with higher Al2O3 contents and lower SiO2 in the MUC pelites. Normalization with respect to PAAS shows the similarities between Cambrian pelites and this normalization value. Nevertheless, Cambrian pelites are characterized by lower CaO and Sr contents than PAAS.
