Sumario:[EN] The Republic of the dreams is an “Atlantic novel” and as such it develops a narrative on the trip and the memory of a family of Spanish origin in the contemporary Brazil. The work investigates the process of immigration and adjustment of a Galician patriarchal and capitalist, predestined to the social success. A consecration that will go up to his last consequences, coming back to his village, of which went out in 1913, to marry the daughter of a nobleman. Founder of a lineage hispanic-brazilian will remain caught in the profit that he itself interweaves on having taken part of the networks and the oligarchic practices that dominate in the country. Thus the authoress re-composes a statement ethnic-historical where she represents the ethnic segmentation of the condition state-nation and institutes the memory and the culture as elements of resistance
