Summary:Analyzes the constitutional mutation as an alternative mechanism to adapt the Brazilian Constitution to the political and social transformations, considering that normative content is not done by itself and there is continuous tension between stability and dynamics of the legal system. It shows the intense process of reform of the Constitution of 1988 through amendments and proposes a reflection about the constitutional mutation as an alternative mechanism for constitutional change, observed the supremacy of the Constitution and the control to be exercised by the Constitutional Court. The research approach is qualitative and methodological procedures are bibliographical and documentary research.
