Resumo:The present research studies the organizational commitment of the internal face to face canvassers in the NGO Médicins Sans Frontières (MSF) in Andalusia, regarding the intrinsic and extrinsic job satisfaction as background and observing their influence on absenteeism and productivity. The commitment has been understood in Meyer and Allen's theory who define it asa psychological link from the worker to his or her organization, which the worker doesn't want to leave. This is compounded by three components: the affective commitment (or desire), the continuance commitment (or necessity) and the normative commitment (or obligation). Job satisfaction has been analysed by Herzberg's motivational theory, making a distinction between intrinsic and extrinsic factors. The canvassers were surveyed voluntarily and anonymously. 75% of participation was obtained with a sample of53 canvassers. The survey was composed of four sections: sociodemographic data, adapted scale of Commitment Scales of Meyer and Allen (1993 and 1997), the scale of satisfaction "Overal Job Satisfaction" of War, Cook and Wall (1979) and two questions of closed answer to choose: productivity and absence in the last 12 months. The outcomes showed the positive correlation between intrinsic or extrinsic satisfaction and the commitment (in all its components) among the canvassers, taking in further considerationthe intrinsic satisfaction as determining of all types of commitment. The canvassers with greater affective and normative commitment have shown higher productivity; however, the negative relation between absenteeism and affective commitment has been weakly demonstrated. Finally, the work concludes by understanding that to raise the levels of productivity in face to face canvassers in MSF it is necessary to reinforce their affective commitment throughout the enrichment of their intrinsic factors, such as the variety of tasks and chances of promotion.
