| Sumario: | The author presents the different tectonic models which have been proposed, in order to explain the origin of the Spanish Central Range. These tectonic models are divided in two main groups: the thick-skinned tectonics one, and the thinskinned tectonics. From the srudy of these groups we can obtain considerations to advance in the understanding of the Spanish Central System. When analyzing these models, it is possible to find out that every tectonic model established must explain the morfological characteristies of the whole chain of mountains. |
