| Sumario: | [EN] The Water Framework Directive establishes that the environmental water requirements for the water bodies, which are classified as lakes, has as its fundamental objective achieving good condition or ecological potential, what will be achieved through the long-term maintenance of their functionality and structure. A minimum volume of water to the wetland or ecological flows will be defined to achieve that goal. There is a gap of knowledge about the lake systems. The biological and ecological areas have been studied, but it is necessary to develop new researchers about the hydrological functioning. There are few references about methodologies for assessment of water requirements. Furthermore, there isn´t a definition of "ecological flow" in the WFD or a consensus about how to calculate it. The objective of the present research is to establish an uniform methodology that allows to calculate the water requirements for wetlands. For this reason, it is essential to know the hydrological functioning and hydrological regime of flood. With this purpose, a mathematical model of water balance in the wetland has been developed in this research, that is able to simulate the hydrological functioning. And finally a proposal for water requirements will be made based on an analysis of the groundwater inputs. The process of calibration model is complicated due to the absence of observed data or the lack of a time series which be representative. For this reason, a complementary methodology based on the application of remote sensing techniques has been analyzed, these techniques allow to generate time series of evolution flooded surface in wetlands through the use of satellite images and the calculation of water indices. This research has been applied to four wetlands in the Júcar River Basin, the Laguna de Talayuelas, the Laguna de Marquesado, the Marjal d'Almenara and the Marjal de Pego-Oliva. |
