In contrast, the W-(Sn) mineralization is dominantly associated with quartz vein systems but also skarns, stratabound skarnoid-like and porphyry-like deposits. This thesis aims to: (1) date the Sn-W metallogenic events in the framework of the Variscan Orogeny, with especial emphasis in the relationship between ores and granitic magmatism of Late Carboniferous to Early Permian age; (2) characterize the potential source(s) of the Sn, W and associated metals; and, (3) track the causes of the local decoupling between Sn and W at the deposit scale.
