Descripción
Sumario:[EN] The staircase of the upper choir in the church of San Vicente, in San Sebastián, which was built in 1784, is composed of several geometrical plane and warped surfaces. This work was built over a preexisting church which dates to the 16th century, so the masons had to adapt the design criteria and the constructive solutions to the conditions of this situation. The objective of this research has been precisely to analyze the layout of the staircase, the stonecutting of the voussoirs of its vaults and the work process. In addition to this, the results have been contextualized in relationship with the Spanish and French treatises of the Modern Age.
