But the recuperation of the bridge was much more than a simple urban planning operation, it supposed the recovering of a key element of the history of the Baix Montseny, abruptly cut off on February 1811 as a result of a military act to prevent (in vain) the advance of the Napoleonic troops during the French war. From the deflagration, it received the name the Broken Bridge. Until then it was called the Roman Bridge, due to the antiquity that various scholars had accredited to it.
