Descrição
Resumo:[EN] Jaume Plensa (Barcelona, 1955) is the artist who forges and models the letter, who molds and coins the word, who modulates and refines silence, who chisels and erects texts, who forms and conforms thought. The article begins with a contextualization of Plensa's work in which special emphasis is placed on tracing the evolution of his production closely linked to the use of the letter. This frame of reference will allow to establish an iconographic analysis in descriptive terms and its relationship with the use of the material in order to approach the iconological analysis, that is, its symbolic value and the hermeneutics that emanates from the confluence of the proto-language created by the artist resemanticizing its original meaning. The article is, in the end, a plea for the visual and plastic resources of the letter, gathered in the conclussions.
