Resumo:Harrâdum, new town of the Middle Euphrates, belongs to a line of fortified cities established by more or less far-distant realms. It emphasizes a new step towards territorial appropriation and underlines permanent control of main powers, able to relieve military conquests. From that time on, the archaeological landscape includes a variety of cities and villages of different sizes but also fortified walls that mark the boundaries of open or little built spaces, as well as gathering and ritual spaces
