Sumario:Inkjet printing is a digital and non-contact printing technique that is beginning to be used in the manufacture of electronic devices, including electrochemical sensors. This article covers the main works featuring inkjet printing for the production of electrochemical sensors, and focuses especially on the works reported since 2015. The main factor limiting the application of inkjet printing in the manufacture of advanced devices stems mainly from the strict rheological conditions that the ink needs to meet. This is the reason why inkjet is best used in combination with other manufacturing techniques. Given their high degree of maturity and accessibility, home/office printers will likely lead a future wave in the manufacture of electronic devices, particularly at the development and prototyping stages.
