Resumo:Often, the analysis of the translations of literary works does not pay attention to certain pragmatic components —coming from the paratextual elements incorporated to the new version— which may have a huge impact on the reader. Accordingly, after the recent publication(2019), for the first time, of the Galician version of Lazarillo de Tormes —the final remaining translation in an Iberian language—, the Asturian text, prepared by Pablo Suárez García in 2017, is still the most unknown version for the public, owing to the political and administrative status of this language, as well as because of its lack of media visibility. Therefore, the main purpose of this research is to study, from a pragmatic point of view, the Asturian translation of Lazarillo —without losing sight of the Galician version, because of its linguistic and chronological proximity—, analysing the suitability of the different choices and additions in the paratextual level, which condition its reading and reception.
