To accomplish this objective, it is done a brief introduction to the work done on the Final Degree Thesis. After this introduction, the turbulence phenomena is presented and the Lid Driven Cavity case is solved using the LES turbulence model. To continue with this study, an introduction to parallelization is done, a couple of simple cases related to this topic are solved, and the importance of using unstructured meshes is mentioned. Finally, a practical case is solved, a thermal heat storage called Thermocline. First, the mathematical model for both fluid and solid are presented. Furthermore, a numerical study is done in order to determinate the parameters of a reference case, to be able to give some results. To continue, a parametric study is done, in order to understand the behavior of certain parameters.
