| Resumo: | [EN] This writing revolves around the visual poetry book Fuera de Trabajo by Esteban Valdés, a unique book in the history of Puerto Rico that represents the practice of visual poetry. In a present where the media monopolizes a large part of our daily life and visual and imaginary ecology, exploration with language and artist books can serve to propose another logic, outside of the colonial capitalism. Emphasizing playful examples with social commitment, we will see how experimental processes help us envision and outline different ways of thinking-acting. Based on artistic discourse, I explore the poetic function as a tool that produces realities. Starting from the premise that it is through the exploration of language, breaking and experimenting with its limits, that other possible worlds are formed. |
