Fecha de Lectura: 17-11-2025Considering the gaps on academic literature on disabled refugees, this study seeks to examine the vulnerabilities faced by disabled Syrian refugees in Lebanon, which are driven by the intersection of their personal and situational factors with the country‘s institutional shortcomings which are exposed to set the scene of the expected life of a disabled refugee. The methodology is based on the data collection on 57 disabled Syrian refugees through 55 semi-structured, natural group interviews in 55 small shelter units where disabled Syrian refugees and some of their family members reside in Beirut and Mount Lebanon. The findings of the interviews reveal severe personal and situational deficiencies in legal protection, psychological well-being, housing, healthcare, education, income, food and water security, assistive equipment, community inclusion, and humanitarian aid. This research underscores the urgent need for policy reforms and targeted interventions to address the challenges faced by disabled Syrian refugees in LebanonTeniendo en cuenta la escasez de la literatura académica, este estudio pretende examinar las vulnerabilidades a las que se enfrentan los refugiados sirios con discapacidad en Líbano. Éstas son impulsadas por la intersección de factores personales y situacionales con las deficiencias institucionales del país en colapso multifacético que condiciona el escenario de vida esperada de un refugiado con discapacidad. La metodología se basa en la recopilación de datos sobre 57 refugiados sirios con discapacidad a través de 55 entrevistas de grupos naturales semiestructuradas, realizadas en 55 pequeñas unidades de acogida donde residen con sus familias en Beirut y Monte Líbano. Las conclusiones de las entrevistas revelan graves carencias personales y situacionales en materia de protección jurídica, bienestar psicológico, vivienda, asistencia sanitaria, educación, ingresos, seguridad alimentaria y de agua, equipos de asistencia, inclusión en la comunidad y ayuda humanitaria.
