In most of the conventional flexibility trading products, the cost structure does not reflect implications such as the rebound effect. In order to address this problem, a novel flexibility trading market is designed based on the ‘energy loan’ concept. This report elaborately discusses the Energy Loan Exchange (ELE) market framework along with two proposed market clearing algorithms. A use case is developed involving an EV charging station, which is trading energy flexibility with households through the centralized ELE market.
