Descripción
Sumario:This dataset provides information on the distribution and abundance of fish larvae in offshore waters of the Central Benguela Current region (Southeast Atlantic) during May 1982. The sampling extended from the slope region and along two transects between the Benguela upwelling system and the Valdivia Bank (located 400 miles offshore of the Namib coast). Samples were dominated by larvae of mesopelagic fish, particularly the myctophid Lampanyctodes hectoris, whose presence in offshore zones could be related to transport caused by an upwelling filament
