| Sumario: | This study is an adaptation of the PMUS of Ciutadella that I have carried out for the company DOYMO, where I did a year of work experience and where I am now developing my professional career. It is an exhaustive study of the social elements that characterise the mobility of the city, it analyses the citizens travel patterns, both within the municipality and in the insular environment, and it breaks down the characteristics that define each mode of transport. Likewise, for each mode of transport, the strengths and weaknesses of the current urban network are determined. As well as the possible improvements to the urban network that would allow progress towards sustainable development, which is fundamental for social progress towards a fairer and more socially equitable future that does not discriminate against minorities and is environmentally aware, in order to advance in conjunction with European sustainability policies. Finally, various proposals are defined that fulfil the objectives of improving the quality of life of Ciutadella's society, depending on the mode of transport. With premises that guarantee the improvements of the main problems detected during the mobility diagnosis and strengthen the bases towards a sustainable and adapted mobility, inverting the criteria adopted during the 20th century, and favouring the active displacements that improve the current urban network. |
