| Sumario: | [EN] Increasing the life span of a building is a direct response from the industry to sustainability demands. Durability is crucial in determining a building¿s life span and knowing its preservation state. In this paper, a building performance analysis tool that describes the preservation state of any concrete structural element is developed. Endurify is a plug-in for BIM environments that uses four damage indicators, carbonation, transversal cracking, creep, and deflection, to study the preservation of any structural element. The analysis is performed inside BIM environments, and the results are stored in the model. These environments are ideal for this task as they can easily manage data, allowing professionals to integrate durability analysis into their workflow. As shown in the examples, the analysis can lead to some findings about damaged structural elements that were outside the scope of the study, increasing its efficiency and accuracy. In conclusion, integrating durability assessment into BIM environments opens a scientific approach to building rehabilitation, analyzing the real preservation state of the building to propose optimized solutions for each case and increase the building¿s service life. |
