It focuses particularly on how GES reproduce power dynamics embedded in global economic, political, and cultural structures, and how they envision changes in these structures. The latter are closely related to questioning and problematizing notions of continuous economic growth, and the construction of global post-growth futures. The thesis consists of four logically and structurally linked scientific papers.La tesis tiene como objetivo evaluar críticamente la literatura actual sobre los Escenarios Ambientales Globales (Global Environmental Scenarios, GES) y desarrollar un conjunto novedoso de GES a partir de los conocimientos obtenidos mediante un análisis exhaustivo de los sesgos y supuestos presentes en distintos GES existentes. Se centra especialmente en cómo los GES reproducen dinámicas de poder arraigadas en las estructuras económicas, políticas y culturales globales, así como en la forma en que conciben los cambios en dichas estructuras. Estos aspectos están estrechamente relacionados con el cuestionamiento y la problematización de las nociones de crecimiento económico continuo y con la construcción de futuros globales poscrecimiento.
